We pulled Mr. Muffins mid-September. He was found in pretty dire condition, matted, crawling with fleas, and severe dental disease, but despite all that he has a winning demeanor.

He’s had quite the medical journey with us! After weeks of a severe upper respiratory infection, he had an anal gland mass removed. After his recovery from that, we moved onto his horrific dental disease. It’s probably one of the worst oral cavity’s we have seen! He had 29 teeth removed!

Mr. Muffins is a sweet & goofy boy who never lets anything keep him down for long. We’re so happy to have saved him!

We had taken in Buddy  from a senior man who was taken away by ambulance never to see his dogs again back in March 2023.  We also took in his siblings, Jackson and Miss Mikki Minaj, who have both been adopted. In the time we have had him it has become very clear that Buddy has severe epilepsy. We have him on several meds to help minimize the frequency. Due to this condition, we won’t be posting Buddy for adoption and instead keeping him in our Hospice Program! Click here to learn more about our Hospice dogs, from the past and present.

Buddy happens to be the sweetest, most gentle Cocker Spaniel. We are sad to announce that he is now a hospice rescue. He has attached himself very well to his foster mom & loves her dearly.

Poor Franklin was found alone, outside in 0° weather, taking shelter under a trailer to survive. Franklin has been dealt a hard hand- he has an enlarged heart, enlarged liver, and is heartworm positive. The diagnosis from the cardiologist wasn’t great, degenerative mitral and tricuspid valve disease. Also substantial pulmonary hypertension mixed with heartworm disease. The cardiologist did give us the greenlight to try and treat his heartworm disease and has started him on a new heart medication. We need continued prayers for our neglected guy as we are not going to give up on him

On a positive note, Franklin LOVES his food & snacks. He is so grateful to have the basics in life such as treats, regular meals and a warm place to sleep. He’s a very sweet ol guy, quite accepting of everything around him. He makes us laugh, cause all he cares about is the next treat. He’ll stare you down just in case you may be willing to give him one at any minute

Meet Milo, a once loved companion to a senior caregiver whose ability to keep up slowly diminished over a given period of time, leaving him in dire condition.

Our hearts break for situations such as this Its sad to think that this person could barely care for themselves let alone the animals in the home environment. Milo did have to be held in a court case for a period of time before he could be legally signed over to seek a new home for whatever life he has left. We pulled him into our rescue Mid-April 2025.

Mr. Milo is blind, almost deaf and greatly confused by learning a new life at 13 years old. We hope to find him a comfortable routine and search for a HOSPICE home here shortly. We try our best to let these elderly pups know someone cares and they are not abandoned when they have reached such a fragile state of existence.

Little Stevie was found injured- he may have been hit by or tossed from a car. We’re unsure but he has severe nerve damage and a fractured leg. In mid-March 2025, we pulled him into our rescue determined to help him get through this!

As of April, our injured boy is doing well in his foster home! He’s soaking up all the love & attention. He also very much enjoys the companionship of his foster siblings. Unfortunately, we have not seen a huge amount of progress with his nerve- damaged leg. We are going to give it more time to see if he’ll be able to use it again. He has a physical therapy routine in place, so we can only hope for the best. If the nerve function fails to return, we will most likely end up amputating the leg.

Little man Herman is a young guy who we pulled from the pound in 2024. He’s pretty insecure, which is understandable for a little guy who has had such an inconsistent life until this point.

Like many Shih Tzus, he can be stubborn, demanding & unwilling to cooperate at times. However, counteracting this he’s also quite lovable with a quirky personality. Herman is quite food motivated and incredibly smart, which makes him incredibly trainable. He’s already learned a few commands, including sit, down, dance, and roll over. It’s pretty impressive!

Due to his insecurities with new situations and sensitivities with handling, Herman needs a supportive owner to help him explore things he has not experienced. He thrives with a regular routine and positive reinforcement.

Herman greatly enjoys the company of other dogs his size but is fearful of cats. He also should not be placed with children as he doesn’t tolerate people pushing his boundaries well.

Although Herman has some baggage, he’s incredibly loving! He looks to his caretaker as if they are his sun & moon and loves to cuddle. If he seems like your type of dog, please apply!
